Yes! The coffee in the city is also great. Sydney’s coffee scene seems to have really started in the late 90s and early 2000s with roasters such as Toby’s Estate and Campos initially and soon followed by Mecca, Single 0 and Coffee Alchemy a few years later.
Mecca, Single O and Coffee Alchemy all have a few cafes of their own but they’re also supplying some of the other great cafes in Sydney and the rest of Australia.
Since then there has been a fairly consistent arrival of new, great, coffee shops and roasters to the city and the list below is by no means an exhaustive one. You will find really great coffee within a 10 minute walk from your location pretty much wherever you happen to be in the city. You’ll also find plenty of mediocre places though so do check out the reviews on Google.
On with the list! I mentioned Mecca, Single O and Coffee Alchemy so it makes sense to start with these places.

Gumption by Coffee Alchemy
All of those places are actually pretty close to each other. That part of town is really excellent for some great coffee options and also includes:
- Batch Espresso
- St Dreux
- Industry Beans
as well as arguably the best coffee shop in all of Sydney, Skittle Lane
