Some House Rules
No smoking inside the property
No parties or events
Please respect our neighbours and keep noise to a minimum, especially after 10pm
We love pets, just please clean up after them
Bins needs to be taken out on Tuesday nights. If you’re here and it’s a Tuesday evening, please take the bins out. The red bin is general waste, the yellow bin is for recycling, and the green bin is garden waste. Just take a look and see which bins the neighbours have put out and follow suit. Thank you!
There’s a few pot plants around, feel free to give them a little water now and then. Thank you!
How to deal with the blinds
You might be wondering how to use the blinds located throughout the house (mainly in the bedrooms).
There is some automation in place. At 10pm the blinds will automatically close. You can, of course, open them again if you need to.
The Living Room:
There’s a switch on the wall next to the rear door. The bottom button can be used to control the blinds. Single press will open the blind and a double press will close the blinds. Due to a bit of a design flaw, you’ll probably need to wait until the blind is fully opened before it will respond to a request to close it.
The Master Bedroom
The 3rd button on the smart switch will control the small side blind as well as the main larger blind. The 4th button will control the shade. Single press will raise the blinds and a double press will close them.
The Second Bedroom
This one is (currently) a bit old school. Simply use the remote located in the room to control the blind. Please note that this remote can also control all of the other blinds in the house but we ask you to please leave it in the second room upon your departure. Thank you.
The Third Bedroom
The bottom button on the smart switch controls the blinds. Simply single press to raise the blind and double press to lower it.
This, Jen, is The Internet…
It’s pretty stable but should you experience any difficulties, you’ll find the router in the linen cupboard upstairs. Please try powering it off and on again (then waiting a few minutes) if you experience any internet difficulties. You’ll find a couple of satelite WiFi nodes around the house, please leave those be as it enables the whole house to have access to WiFi.
But wait, what about coffee?
Please feel free to avail yourself of the coffee machine. The grinder was recently dialled in for espresso but if you know what you’re doing, you’re welcome to tweak it. You’ll find some beans for the grinder but you’re also welcome to use your own beans! There’s a couple of really great local cafes and roasters:
Mansfield Coffee is located at 32 Mansfield Avenue (a 7–8 minute walk down Port Hacking Road towards The Kingsway)
Ordinary Coffee is on Hay Avenue (just past Mansfield, across The Kingsway near the post office)
There’s plenty of other great local cafes around, but those 4 are our personal favourites!
Some local attractions (and restaurants!)
Want to head to the beach? Cronulla’s beaches are all about 3km away. If you head down Burraneer Bay road you’ll end up in Cronulla in no time. There’s also plenty of bays and baths around to explore including Lilli PIlli Baths just up the road.
Our pick of the local beaches is probably Salmon Haul. It’s a bit of a locals hideout and well worth finding!
